Missing Kentucky man found dead about 150 yards away from flooded vehicle

A missing Kentucky man whose vehicle was abandoned in flood waters from the recent storms was found dead Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.

The man, 39-year-old Samuel Wilson, of Murray was found about 150 yards away from where his vehicle was located in flood waters. KSP said no foul play is suspected in Wilson’s death and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Wilson’s vehicle was found in flood waters in the Symsonia area of Graves County on Feb. 17. He was last seen the day prior and officials began searching for him.

The investigation into his death remains ongoing.

Gov. Andy Beshear’s latest update on the deadly flood included 22 victims. Wilson has not been officially included in the death toll as of Tuesday morning.

All of Kentucky’s 120 counties reported flooding after 3-to-8 inches of rain fell on the state beginning the night of Feb. 14, prompting more than 1,000 emergency rescues in the first 24 hours.
