Powerball ticket worth $50K sold in Kentucky this week. Its owner hasn’t come forward

If you happened to purchase a Powerball ticket at a Bowling Green gas station recently, you might want to check your pockets.

According to the Kentucky Lottery, a winning ticket worth $50,000 sold there ahead of the game’s March 17 drawing. In a news release Tuesday, the agency said the ticket was sold at the Five Star at 7288 Louisville Road in Bowling Green.

The winning ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball, which is attached to the game’s third-place $50,000 prize. The odds of that are 1 in 913,129.

The winning numbers from Monday night’s drawing were 11, 18, 23, 38 and 60, with a Powerball of 9. You don’t need to match the white ball numbers in any particular order to win.

If you are the owner of this winning ticket, the Kentucky Lottery advises winners to:

  • Sign the back of the ticket

  • Store it in a secure location

  • Claim their prize within 180 days of the drawing

Next, head to Louisville. Winners of large prizes must claim them at Kentucky Lottery headquarters, located at 1011 West Main St. Call the lottery at 1-877-789-4532 to make your appointment.

Kentucky has had several big winners on Powerball recently. Just this week, the state lottery announced a first-time player had to dig her ticket out of the trash after winning $100,000.

There was no jackpot winner for Monday night’s Powerball drawing. Currently, the jackpot sits at an estimated $416 million, with the next drawing set to take place at 11 p.m. EDT Wednesday, March 19.
