A man working on his vehicle beside Interstate 64 in Boyd County was hit and killed Saturday evening, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers found Hubert E. Mosby, 78, lying on the shoulder of the highway near his vehicle after receiving a call about the case at 9:25 p.m. Saturday.

Mosby was dead when police arrived.

The preliminary investigation indicated Mosby was dealing with a mechanical issue on his vehicle when he was hit by another vehicle which left the scene, police said.

State police asked anyone with information about the case to call (606) 928-6421.
