Kentucky sheriff’s deputy involved in fatal crash that left UTV driver dead

A Kentucky sheriff’s deputy was involved in a collision that killed a UTV driver, according to Kentucky State Police.

The crash happened sometime before 9:30 p.m. Thursday on Southeast Business Drive in Corbin. State police said a Knox County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over the UTV, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the UTV, 21-year-old Todd St John, was taken to Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, where he was later pronounced dead. Jerry Stewart, 20, was a passenger in the UTV and was uninjured, state police said.

The deputy, whose identity was not released, also was uninjured, according to state police. Details of what caused the collision were not released.

The crash is being investigated by state police.
