Search for missing 10-year-old Eastern Kentucky boy enters second day
The search for a missing 10-year-old boy in Breathitt County entered its second day Thursday morning, according to Breathitt County Emergency Management.
Jayden Spicer was last seen Tuesday evening at his home on Panbowl Branch Road in Jackson. Kentucky State Police said they think Spicer left the home overnight Tuesday or early Wednesday.
Spicer was reported missing to state police around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. State police described Spicer as white, about 5-foot-1, slim build, blond hair and blue eyes.
Spicer was wearing Sonic the Hedgehog pajama pants and a matching shirt before he went missing, according to state police.
State police, local search and rescue teams and other agencies responded to the Panbowl Branch Road area to search for Spicer. Emergency management officials said they used several resources, including an all-terrain vehicle, canine, drone, sonar and helicopter to look for Spicer.
Officials covered more than 20 square miles by 3 a.m. Wednesday, emergency management said.
The search for Spicer resumed at daybreak Thursday. Emergency management said access to the Panbowl Branch Road area will be restricted to prevent congestion in the area.
People are asked to avoid the area. Anyone with information about Spicer’s whereabouts is asked to call State Police Post 13 at 606-435-6069.
