A Knox County woman died Saturday after being attacked by a pack of roaming dogs, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

Priscilla Jones, 44, was walking down Sandy Branch Road in Flat Lick around 2:30 p.m. when a pack of roaming dogs attacked and severely injured her. A person who knew Jones heard her calling for help and called 911, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

The East Knox Fire Department responded and found Jones with life-threatening injuries and unable to communicate. She was transported to Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she died of the injuries.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
