How to tell if you’re a Powerball winner

The winning numbers from the Sept. 3 Powerball drawing were 3, 16, 29, 61 and 69, with a Powerball of 22.

The two winning tickets sold in Kentucky matched four of the white ball numbers and the red Powerball, netting the game’s $50,000 prize for their owners.

Powerball players can check their numbers on the game’s official website. Kentucky Lottery players can also download the game’s mobile phone app and scan their barcode.

The Powerball jackpot is estimated to be $1.7 billion, making it the third-largest in the game’s history. Should a player claim it, they could take the $770.3 million cash prize for an instant payout.

This latest run started May 31, and according to the Kentucky Lottery, has produced several big wins for players here. According to the release, those include a $1 million win for the Sept. 1 drawing and a $1 million winning ticket that was sold in Owensboro July 7. That winning ticket was sold at the Kroger at 1670 Starlite Drive in Owensboro. Several others have won the game’s third-place, $50,000 prize.

The Kentucky Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their winning ticket, store it in a secure location and claim the prize within 180 days of the drawing.

Winners of large prizes must claim them in-person at Kentucky Lottery headquarters in downtown Louisville, 1011 West Main St.

The next Powerball drawing takes place at 11 p.m. EST Saturday, Sept. 6.
