Two people died and four others were hurt in a crash Tuesday on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in Wolfe County, according to the Kentucky State Police.

The crash happened around 3:50 p.m. near the 47-mile marker of the parkway. State police said a Town and Country minivan was traveling east and crossed the center line of the parkway, colliding with a Hyundai Elantra.

The minivan had two occupants, while the Elantra had four occupants, including two children. State police said the passenger in the minivan, 56-year-old Robbin Burchett, of Paintsville, and a passenger in the Elantra, 27-year-old Katelyn Harmon, of Salyersville, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Elantra and a 9-year-old girl in the car suffered serious injuries and were in critical condition at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital in West Liberty, according to state police. The other occupant of the Elantra, a 2-year-old, suffered minor injuries and was stable.

The driver of the minivan was taken to St. Claire Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries, state police said.
