Kentucky woman injured after large tree limb crashes through roof overnight

A woman in Johnson County was injured early Friday morning after a large tree limb fell through the roof of her family’s home and struck her leg.

The incident happened at a home on Witten Lane, according to a Facebook post from emergency crews. W.R. Castle Fire-Rescue officials said the woman was lying in bed when the tree limb penetrated the roof, leaving a deep laceration in her leg.

The woman was placed in an ambulance and received medical care, according to the fire department.

Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management and property management have provided a place for other family members to stay, the fire department said. There was no mention of any other injuries.
