A 19-year-old Eastern Kentucky man was electrocuted Tuesday while installing fiber cable, according to Harlan County officials.

The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. in Holmes Mill, an unincorporated community in Harlan County, according to the county sheriff’s office. Bryson Cottongim, of Manchester, was declared dead at 12:37 p.m. from electrocution injuries, according to the county coroner’s office.

Cottongim was working in an elevated bucket truck when the accident happened according the coroner’s office. The accident is being investigated by the sheriff’s office.

Officials did not release additional details about the incident, including how it happened or for whom Cottongim was working.
