A person and a dog were rescued from Laurel River Lake Saturday night after officials were notified that they had both ended up in the water.

Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the London-Laurel County 911 Center received a call about a person who jumped in the water off East City Damn Road to rescue a dog, which had also jumped in the water.

Units from Laurel County and London responded and used their RescueONE boat and rope equipment to reach the individual and the dog, according to a post on social media.

Both the person and dog were safely removed from the water and transported to EMS by a boat.

The Corbin Fire Department and West Knox Volunteer Fire Department were also at the scene.
