One person died and another sustained life-threatening injuries in a UTV collision in Boyle County on Friday.

Connie Thompson, 63, of Lebanon, was a passenger on a Can-Am side-by-side vehicle that hit a tree when the driver failed to negotiate a curve on Forkland Road in the Gravel Switch community, Kentucky State Police said in a news release. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police said the driver was taken by helicopter to the University of Kentucky’s Chandler Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Toxicology results are pending, police said.
