Man, 70, found dead Tuesday after house fire in southern Kentucky

A 70-year-old man was found dead after a fire at a home in the Rockholds community of Whitley County Tuesday.

Kentucky State Police said the body of Eddie Lester, of Rockholds, was found while firefighters were extinguishing the fire. The Whitley County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

An autopsy was to be completed at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Rockholds Volunteer Fire Department said they were called to the fire on Ky. 511 at 6:30 a.m. and found the structure “fully involved” when they arrived, according to a Facebook post.

Rockholds is about 100 miles south of Lexington, between Corbin and Williamsburg.
