Crash involving KY police cruisers shuts down part of I-64 in Scott County

Part of westbound Interstate 64 in Scott County shut down Monday morning after a crash involving two police cruisers, according to TV station WKYT.

Minor injuries were reported, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Lexington’s city traffic ticker, the roadway was shut down near mile marker 70 as of 9:10 a.m. Eastbound traffic was also experiencing delays. The ticker went offline soon after 9:15 a.m. and says it will resume posting updates at 4 p.m.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 7 confirmed in a Facebook post that one lane remained closed as of 10:06 a.m., alerting motorists to expect delays in the area.

No additional details about the crash, including what agency was involved, were available Monday morning.
