The crash happened around 5 a.m. on Highway 421 near Big Hill in Rockcastle County. The sheriff’s office said the pickup truck crossed into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Matthew Gabbard, 45, of McKee.

Gabbard was taken to CHI Saint Joseph Hospital in Berea, where he was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported from the pickup truck, which had three passengers.
