Boat Collision in Mercer County leaves four injured and one missing

A boat collision in Mercer County, Kentucky, left four people injured and another missing during the Fourth of July weekend.

The Mercer County Fire Department, alongside the Mercer County Police Department, were dispatched on Saturday night to Herrington Lake along Herrington Woods Road shortly after 8 p.m. for a water rescue, according to the Mercer County Fire District Facebook page.

One victim of the collision suffered traumatic injuries and was flown out to the University of Kentucky hospital. Three other victims were transported to Danville, Kentucky, for their injuries.

One person remained missing, as of 11:27 p.m. on Saturday, following the collision. Dive teams and boats were deployed by Boyle County to conduct a search for the missing person.
