Pikeville College seeing growth
PIKEVILLE — Pikeville College welcomed its largest freshman class Monday, with 525 freshmen and transfer students registering early, making the school's enrollment numbers twice the size of last year's.
The college's president, Paul Patton, said in a press release that adding the new students to the current count, including those enrolled at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine, brings the total enrollment to 1,328.
The college has five residence halls but will house some students at PC South, the former Days Inn property owned by the college. The former motel was remodeled to serve as temporary overflow housing.
