Cave Run Lake campgrounds open
The two campgrounds at Cave Run Lake — at Twin Knobs and Zilpo — opened on Friday, and campers will have access to the campgrounds at Laurel River Lake beginning April 13, the U.S. Forest Service announced.
The campgrounds are part of the Daniel Boone National Forest, which stretches across 21 southern and Eastern Kentucky counties and offers more than 100 recreational sites, such as campgrounds, boat ramps, picnic areas and shooting ranges.
The forest has nearly 600 miles of trails for hikers, horseback riders, bicyclists and off-road vehicles, and it offers opportunities for hunting, wildlife viewing and water sports. For more information, visit Fs.usda.gov/dbnf.
