More snow is expected to move through Kentucky early Monday and into the afternoon with some areas possibly seeing up to 2 inches of accumulation.
According to the National Weather Service Louisville office’s latest report, Lexington should see snow between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. The high is expected to be 29 degrees Fahrenheit. Western Kentucky will get the first hit in the commonwealth around 1 a.m.
Multiple counties along the Indiana-Kentucky border, including Louisville, were also under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Monday.
The latest snowfall is because of a weakening low pressure system that will bring snowfall to parts of southern Indiana and Kentucky.
Drivers should be cautious of slick roads and hazardous travel conditions Sunday night and through Monday. If you have to drive, prepare an emergency kit with supplies like a blanket, flashlights and booster cables, and check road conditions by dialing 511.

The latest storm will add to the snow and ice already on the ground in the commonwealth.
Preliminary reports on Friday from NWS Louisville showed areas of Northern Kentucky saw nearly 5 inches of snowfall Thursday evening. Central Kentucky was between about 1.5-2 inches, Eastern Kentucky about 2.6 inches and Western Kentucky 2-3 inches.
