The Fort Boonesborough State Park campground in Madison County is closed until Sept. 30 and the opening of the reconstructed fort has been delayed until April 23 due to flood damage, Anita Hatchett, spokesperson for the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, said Tuesday.

Repairs must be made to the park’s “flood damaged power grid,” the park website said.

The website said the entire park was closed Tuesday.

The campground is on the banks of the Kentucky River.

An alert on the website also said, “Kentucky State Parks are experiencing inclement weather impacts. Be cautious when traveling. Check park status before visiting.”
