Evening activities canceled Monday for Fayette schools as snow removal continues

With many Lexington roads still ice- and snow-covered, Fayette County Public Schools has canceled afternoon and evening activities for Monday, Feb. 2.

Monday’s in-person school board meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., will continue as planned at the John D. Price Administration Building.

District officials did not immediately say if in-person classes will be held Tuesday.

Monday was the sixth consecutive school day FCPS canceled in-person classes in the wake of Winter Storm Fern, which dumped several inches of snow and ice on Kentucky Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.

Another round of snow accumulation is possible Tuesday in Central Kentucky.
