Central Kentuckians saw a brief snow fall Sunday morning, but it isn’t likely to stick around.

The National Weather Service in Louisville said the Bluegrass region could see a light “dusting” Sunday morning, but that there would be little accumulation.

“Visibilities will drop as this shower passes and may bring a quick, thin dusting of snowfall,” the weather service said on social media.

A trace of about 0.5 inches of snow is expected, but other areas across the state could see snow squalls. A snow squall is characterized by sudden intensity, strong winds and rapid drops in visibility.

Cold temperatures will continue into Monday morning, with high wind gusts of up to 35 mph that make it feel even colder, the weather service said.
