‘Alt-right’ delighted by Trump campaign’s new CEO

‘Alt-right’ delighted by new campaign chief

Breitbart News chief Steve Bannon’s new role as CEO of Donald Trump’s campaign is delighting those belonging to the “alt-right.” As best we can tell, “alt-right” is a term that seeks to make white supremacy sound less repugnant and maybe even a little hip, like alt-rock or alt-country music.

Meanwhile, Trump is telling white audiences that he is reaching out to black voters. “I want an inclusive country, and I want an inclusive party,” Trump declared over the weekend. Trump has little chance of persuading black voters, but he is hoping to convince whites that a vote for him would not be endorsing the white supremacist doctrine whose adherents are so thrilled by Trump’s recent choice.
