Dump Trump, KY GOP

I am a Republican, but there comes a time when common sense and decency outweigh blind political party allegiance.

Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul and Andy Barr continued to publicly support Donald Trump after he successively disparaged Hispanics, Muslims, John McCain’s POW experience, our military leaders and women — all the while espousing various other coarse and repugnant positions.

And where are they now that Trump has disparaged our greatest tradition of respecting the voters’ opinion followed by a peaceful, smooth transition? His failure to endorse that tradition when questioned during the third debate proved once again that he is unfit to serve as our president.

I would hope that this latest episode would finally prompt our Republican congressional delegation to demonstrate courage and pull their support for Trump.
