Write in Stanley for council

Fifth District Councilman Bill Farmer recently got his wish when the state Supreme Court knocked down Louisville’s (and by extension Lexington’s) minimum-wage increase. Farmer expressed in an interview that “low skill” employees making a living wage is bad for business.

With no option to vote against these sentiments, my friend Justin D. Stanley filed as a write-in candidate.

He is a professional with a background in small business and nonprofits. He’s a leader of the Socialist Kentucky Workers League that organizes tenants against unfair landlord practices and does arts education in Cardinal Valley.

It is exciting to think about how a socialist would represent our district. Justin would use his position to elevate poor and working-class voices. If you believe in government that takes the issues and voices of poor and working-class people seriously, join me in writing in Justin D. Stanley for 5th District.
