Re-elect Shevawn Akers

I encourage voters in the Urban County Council’s 2nd District to re-elect Shevawn Akers. Akers is a proven leader who has worked tirelessly to make our community a better place. Aker’s dedication to her constituents and her city is inspiring. She is a public servant who values inclusion and has worked to ensure that the voices of all Lexingtonians are heard.

Akers fought for Lexington’s working families and to raise the minimum wage. She worked to create a needle-exchange program to address the public health crisis posed by heroin addiction. She championed investment in public art, better parks and other cultural projects so everyone, regardless of where they live, can enjoy beautiful public spaces.

Please vote for Akers on Nov. 8. She has proven she is a public leader who works hard, listens carefully, acts thoughtfully and cares deeply about this place we all call home.
