Kings Island scam
Kings Island used to have signs that said “No line jumping,” warning that line jumpers would be evicted. They are gone as line jumping is now sold as a product to those who can afford it. Kings Island sells a “fast past” allowing persons to pay triple the entrance price and “line jump” in front of others all day long.
This is not the same as the Disney fast pass where everyone picks a few rides to be admitted to more quickly. This is a two-class system where those willing to pay a steep price can stroll past those who pay the advertised price.
I stood in line all day watching those of greater means run from ride to ride walking past us commoners. Since there are a finite number of seats, each time the privileged jump in front of me, I get moved back. Kings Island has effectively taken my time, put a price on it, and sold it to someone who can afford this pricey upgrade.
I believe in capitalism and plan to vote with my wallet. I will not return to Kings Island to stand in line with my children while it sells my time to the more fortunate.
