Kentucky basketball ticket pricing a mystery
I would like to hear the University of Kentucky’s explanation as to how and why basketball ticket prices are determined.
For example, Cleveland State is $35, UT-Martin, $50, and UCLA $120 (downstairs.) Yes, UCLA is still UCLA but they had a losing record last year. Kansas is also $120. The SEC teams are from $55 to $75. Why is a LSU ticket $55 and Florida $75?
A lot of schools are doing this now but that doesn’t make it right. I thought it might be because of the guarantee they give visiting schools but that doesn’t make sense, either.
The only thing I can figure is it’s another way to dig as deep in the pockets of consumers as they can get away with. It goes without saying that the cost is way too much.
I wonder what would happen if UK basketball ran into hard times? It could happen. Look who was just elected president.
