Abortion is harsh

Washington Post writer Anne Applebaum in her Nov. 22 column, “Advice for anti-Trump protesters,” mentions a “very harsh proposed abortion law” that Polish women managed to squelch by massive demonstrations. I presume she meant that the law would in some way curtail or regulate abortions.

My blood runs cold at her use of such language, apparently without the slightest inkling that all abortions are “very harsh” for the aborted child. At least Polish women are not being killed by the millions.

Someone once said that “language is the first casualty” when putative “human rights” are being discussed.
