Dont blame Obama

I was horrified that a letter writer thinks President Barack Obama is the reason Donald Trump was elected. What kind of conspiracy theories has he been reading?

Obama inherited a nightmare and has made our economy, our country and the world a far better place.

People voted for Trump for a variety of reasons. He is good at manipulating people emotionally and encouraging blame and hate of “the others.”

Then there is the hateful, creepy Roger Ailes and FOX “news” that peddles conspiracy theories and blames anyone or anything that does not support ultra-conservative ideology.

Add to this the failure of the Democratic Party to find solutions to lost manufacturing and mining jobs, which have little to do with trade deals. High-paying, low-skilled, blue-collar jobs are not coming back because economic growth belongs to industries that require technically skilled, educated workers.

In addition, there was the Republican Party’s constant disrespectful attitude towards Obama, its ability to block all efforts to fix the Affordable Care Act or anything else, and its failed trickle-down economic policies.

Trump is a disgrace and a real danger to our democracy.
