We’re leaving people in pain

I recently injured my heel and was in intense pain, but I don’t think I was properly treated at the emergency room. An X-ray was taken and exercises were given, but nothing was prescribed to relieve the pain. Now I have been limping around in pain for weeks.

Why do those who legitimately need pain relief have to suffer because of those who abuse pain medicine? This is a great disservice to those who benefit from relief from prolonged physical pain.
