Tangling with the IRS
Last year, the IRS sent me an audit letter with a tax due amount. I questioned the amount, and six weeks later, the agency basically said never mind, with a promise to return the amount I paid to avoid penalty. No check was received during the next four months.
I asked U.S. Rep. Andy Barr’s office for assistance and two weeks later the check landed in my mailbox. The amount was $6.19 over the amount I was due. I guess that was for my pain and suffering. Grrr.
