Women must save us

Does it bother women who voted for Donald Trump that his wife, Melania, often walks behind him? His boorish treatment of her reflects his attitude toward women in general. Witness his cavalier treatment of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, calling her “Pocahontas” at every opportunity.

If he had ever read a book about American history, he might have learned that Pocahontas saved the Jamestown settlers from starvation because their fearless white leader, Captain John Smith, somehow forgot that the settlers might need food to survive. Pocahontas fed them for two years while they figured out how to grow crops.

Are women still supporting this incompetent, conniving excuse for a leader of the free world? The 2020 election is on the horizon. I’m ready for Pocahontas to save us from our own ineptitude.
