Appalled by bootlicking Cabinet

I cannot believe what I witnessed in President Donald Trump’s recent Cabinet meeting. The sycophants around the table told Trump how great he is while he basked in their praise.

It brought to mind “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” in which a pair of savvy weavers present the emperor with an invisible set of clothes and tell him only the unfit for office and ignorant folks cannot see the clothes. Well, of course the vain emperor “sees” them and proceeds to parade in front of his court. The court, not wanting to appear unfit or ignorant, praises the clothes. A child then innocently points out that “he’s not wearing anything at all.”

Well, the truth is that Trump is unfit for his job, and his cabinet must praise him to show they are not unfit. Meanwhile, under his leadership, the United States becomes a laughingstock on the world stage and loses its influence as a world power. When will that truth dawn upon those who keep him in office?
