Take care of U.S. flag

The Fourth of July is fast approaching. If you are displaying a U.S. flag, this would be an ideal time to evaluate its condition to see if it is torn, tattered, frayed, faded or permanently soiled. If so, it should be replaced.

The U.S. Flag Code states: “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning. You can also contact the American Legion for the locations where the flag may be dropped off for disposal.”

In honor of our country, our veterans and the citizens who hold the flag as a treasured symbol of our country, please display a flag that is in the best condition, especially on July 4.
