Applaud sticking to beliefs

As the next online petition by liberals pops up, an age-old problem keeps materializing: stand fast to your core beliefs or let a small group from the LGBT arena dictate your values. Congratulations to Connecticut’s Mercy High School for standing firm in its convictions, policies and values.

Here is yet another example of a small militant group seeking to change established policy instead of simply attending a school where they can express themselves, in this case taking same-sex partners to a prom. It is arrogance and entitlement times 100.

The article quoted one graduate — now fully indoctrinated and reveling in the uber-liberal ecosystem of an upstate New York college — who wonders why Mercy won’t get with the program and change its policy. Because selling out and bowing to this kind of pressure begets more demands later. The Catholic faith, not hating or judging, remains rooted in the Scripture and won’t be bullied by the whims of a few. I applaud the decision.
