I have no problem with people who say they know there is no God, though I suspect Sherlock Holmes would say they’re theorizing ahead of their data. But I was puzzled and dismayed by a recent Ark Encounter protest during which members of Tri-State Freethinkers held up placards supporting Planned Parenthood. That seemed irrelevant.
I don’t think religion obligates us to oppose Planned Parenthood. Perhaps the Ark Encounter people do, but they don’t speak for everyone who believes in God. Maybe the Tri-State Freethinkers are just confused.
As for Planned Parenthood itself, I’d be very surprised if it had any policy on the matter. I’m guessing that it, of all organizations, realizes there are some things that must be worked out by each soul in fear and trembling.
