Be honest about coal

If we ever needed proof that politicians are lying to us about the future of coal in Kentucky, we surely have that proof now. A report from Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy estimates that regulations might account for about three percent to five percent of the coal industry’s decline over the last several years. You read that correctly. Just three to five percent. All that political spin we heard about the so-called “war on coal” distracted us from the causes of 95 percent to 97 percent of the coal industry’s problems.

It appears the politicians blinded us to those causes because they’ve been ignoring them for a long time. Do they want to do anything about that 95 percent to 97 percent today? Do they have a secret plan?
