Don’t erase our past

It is the media and those who want to be politically correct who bring the issue of old statues to light. Those statues in the state Capitol and in Lexington have been there for years, yet only now is there a problem with them.

Let’s just erase all of our history and begin all over, who needs to learn from the past? We all do, so that we can change and correct the injustices that we, as a society, have caused.

We need to bring together blacks, whites, Hispanics, the LGBT community, all religious beliefs, immigrants and all become Americans. I hope one day we will look at our neighbor and see him or her as a person, not a label.
