Better things to focus on

History is history and can’t be changed by moving statues, renaming streets and trying to rewrite the past. Moving Confederate statues changes nothing, except the good feelings liberals get from doing useless things.

I would think the mayor would be far more concerned about safety and the druggies, panhandlers, pimps, bums and other deviants lurking around Phoenix Park, than pillars of stone and brass.

Cleaning up the trash in downtown, which dissaudes tourists from visiting, costing businesses needed revenue, would be far more constructive than following the latest politically correct foolishness sweeping the country.

Mayor Jim Gray is not a leader, he’s a follower. If we’re going to penalize things based on history, we should then close Ashland, Waveland, the Hunt Morgan House and Transylvania University,

America has changed for the better, and living in the past, as philosopher George Santayana warned against, isn’t constructive.
