Kudos for Barr
At a recent forum hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration and attended by U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, there were at least 100 mostly owners of small businesses of all types, including agriculture.
I was very impressed with Barr’s knowledge on the entire range of questions. He clearly takes his job representing us very seriously, and the good news is that following recent elections, the regulatory landscape is becoming much better for small business owners at both the state and local levels.
So that should be good news for everybody, right? Well, there’s a small group of vocal liberals who don’t like it when folks go into business for themselves. These malcontents work very hard to make that as difficult as possible by insisting on layer upon layer of needless regulations. They think everything should be heavily regulated by big government because we’re not smart enough to run our own businesses in a responsible way.
I’m very happy we have somebody like Barr who’s not afraid to speak up for small-business owners who are the backbone of this country and create the majority of jobs.
