State needs more revenue
After reading recommendations for Kentucky’s beleaguered retirement system, I think the lawmakers need to look at one glaring thing the evaluators did not: It was the lawmakers and past governors that caused this mess in the first place.
I, as did all teachers and state employees, continued to contribute a large part of our salaries to ensure we all have a comfortable retirement. The state did not. Now officials are trying to have the people who kept the money flowing solve the problem.
I think not. Gov. Matt Bevin and legislators should face facts; they have to raise taxes to fix the mess their brethren caused. We need more revenue, not more cuts.
