Bad interview experience
I recently had an interview with the manager of the cozy local coffee shop. Not only did he treat the interview like a joke, he was discriminatory and rude because of my religion.
As soon as I mentioned I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he said, “Oh, we’re gonna have fun,” in a very mischievous voice that made me uneasy.
He also said, “Let me ask you a real obnoxious question. What kind of coffee should you recommend to someone?”
He asked me very personal questions that had nothing to do with working at a coffee shop, such as, “What is your blood type?” “Why did you finish college so quickly here?” “Why don’t you like anime or sushi? How the hell can you be into Japan and not like those things?”
Everything about the interview was unethical. He kept me there an hour and a half simply to ask stupid and unrelated questions. I assume he felt like harassing someone. I was very polite.
However, I think that whoever is thinking of applying there should be aware of who they are working for. I would be extremely uncomfortable working with him. This was my terrible experience.
