Victim of poor mail service

Associated Press

My mail is frequently delivered to houses on other streets in the neighborhood. This has been going on for quite some time. I may get it or not. The same thing has happened to many of my neighbors.

Recently, a cell phone I ordered on the internet was delivered to the wrong address. The package was scanned at a house with a different number and on a different street. The people who live there denied getting it. The local post office told me the postal service was not responsible.

I was told by the mail carrier that sometimes the carrier doesn’t look at the whole address on the mail. Sometimes they look only at the house number, and they do not sort the mail. Hearing this was very concerning.

I guess we can just hope that we get our mail. It is a federal offense to open mail that doesn’t belong to you, but I guess the people who kept my cell phone aren’t worried about that. Too bad we can’t prove that they opened and kept the phone.
