Media must call out Bevin untruths
I read in these pages frequently that Gov. Matt Bevin has insulted some group or defamed some individual. Every citizen should be aware that the most important thing to know about Bevin is that he is a liar.
No one can dispute that Bevin is a liar, or as one commentator charitably put it in the case of President Donald Trump, he has “a loose relationship with the truth.”
Well, maybe some alt-right or far-right individuals who get their “news” from the Fox propaganda machine might try, claiming “fake news.”
I am upset with the media for a different reason: not challenging Bevin for an ongoing lie. The press seems not to be able to either hold Bevin to the truth or embarrass him about his lies. I believe that every press conference and interview should either begin with or contain: “Governor, you told the people of Kentucky that you would release copies of your tax returns if elected. When can we expect those?”
