Guffey column ignores evil, redemption

This is in response to Roger Guffey’s op-ed, “Hurricanes punish us for gay rights? Who decided that?”

This world has hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, violence, murders, illness, sickness, suffering, death and more because we live in a fallen world. When mankind sinned, God’s perfect paradise was corrupted by evil.

One day Christ will return to set up his heavenly kingdom. But until our Lord’s return, Satan’s goal is to deceive, divide and destroy.

We must keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus and our eternal home. We are empowered; we are blessed; we will be rewarded. God is in full control.

All of us stand accountable before Jesus: me, Guffey and everyone else. So let us live according to God’s word as we look forward to our heavenly home.
