Give Rupp his due

While everyone is into statues, how about taking down the statue of Joe B. Hall, who won one NCAA men’s basketball championship? Instead, erect one for a coach who won as many championships as all University of Kentucky basketball coaches combined.

While everyone is in the mood to do away with bigotry, let’s stop holding Coach Adolph Rupp’s beliefs against him, like ISIS does to people, and award him for his deeds and accomplishments: literally putting UK in its iconic basketball status.

Yet we build statues of people with accomplishments that are not even in the same league as him when it comes to winning.

Let’s stop the bigotry and award the ones who actually earned it. Stop sucking up to political correctness, which is a form of bigotry in itself.
