Hear ye, hear ye

Regarding Paul Prather’s Sept. 24 column, here is a proclamation:

In the spirit of hominid foibility, and

In the interest of diversity, inclusion, iconoclasm, cultural appropriation, and the re-imagining of history;

By the power invested in me as an English teacher and writer of letters to the editor, and

As a white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant, I

Do hereby declare and publish that we renounce any title to, or association with, the acronym WASP, and

Do proclaim that henceforth, said acronym shall stand for “Whiner About Slavery, Perpetually,” and

Do urge my fellow citizens: if the shoe fits, wear it in good health.
