It never makes a difference

Fifty-nine Americans killed in Las Vegas. What difference does it make?

Forty-nine killed in Orlando. What difference does it make?

Thirty-two killed at Virginia Tech. What difference does it make?

Twenty children and six adults killed at Sandy Hook. What difference does it make?

We are aghast with the horror. We fill our TV with sickening pictures. We talk about how in the world could this have happened. We mourn a couple days as we fly our flag at half mast. We say we are a civilized nation.

We then go out and buy more guns to counter the threat.

We are a nation of 300 million guns — where the 2nd Amendment to the extreme trumps your right to live. Where in all reality people die.

Besides, in the whole scheme of things, what difference does it make?
