Frank Capra’s movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a Christmas classic, with George and the angel Clarence reminding the world that love, caring and honesty are the best gifts we can give to each other.

President Donald Trump, the nation’s top moralist, as well as the GOP are in the process of remaking that movie into “It’s a Wonderful Life for ME.” Trump pounds on his desk, demanding Sen. Mitch McConnell and Rep. Paul Ryan give him his “Best Christmas Present Ever.” They do: A big steaming pile of elephant tax-cutting, stinking dung. And when the fact-checking angels ring the bells on another Trump or GOP lie, Steve Bannon pops up yelling “Fake News” and punches them right in the face.
